Principle: The measurement of sugar content ° Bx adopts the liquid buoyancy method based on the Archimedes principle. Through special software calculations, quickly read the specific gravity, sugar content (° Bx), alcohol content (PA), and% concentration of sugar containing solutions.

Technical data:
1. 1 ° Bx is the mass percentage concentration (% w/w) of sucrose present in a 100 gram solution.
2. There is a non-linear relationship between ° Bx and specific gravity. So ° Bx is not equal to concentration.
3. The alcohol content PA can be calculated from wine or beer made from grape juice or malt extract.
4. The specific gravity will change slightly with temperature. In order to achieve higher measurement accuracy, the liquid is kept at a constant temperature of 20 ℃.
5. Improving the refractometer results in errors due to the increase in liquid temperature, which causes more sugar to dissolve in the known volume.
6. Overheated syrup will damage the prism and result in multiple shadows, making it difficult to accurately read the refractive index and sugar content (° Bx).
